Some 1,300 graduates of the School of
Hygiene who are currently unemployed, will today head to the Ministry of
Employment and Labor Relation, to drive home their concerns on the
urgency to receive postings to various places to serve.
Speaking on an Accra-based radio station, spokesperson of the group,
Prince Dzramado, mentioned that five batches are graduates are still at
home awaiting postings but have heard nothing despite promises made by
the ministry to address their grievances by January this year.
The unemployed graduates carried out a similar exercise in October last year and today’s will be the second, telling the Labour Minister that they “are truly suffering” – in the words of Mr. Dzramado. The spokesperson added that the picket is stemmed from the fact that they are tired of waiting and need the government to act.
