A
17-year old boy only identified as Christopher Baman is battling for
his life at God’s Care Hospital, a privately owned facility in Tamale,
the Northern Regional Capital after he was beaten to pulp by an
unidentified military officer with the 6th Infantry Battalion (6BN).
The victim
who can neither walk nor speak according to our investigations was
accused of stealing a mobile phone belonging to the said military
officer who vented his spleen on him.
Our checks
at the facility where he is currently on admission, revealed that he
has been referred to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for specialist
attention.
The
condition of the victim makes it impossible for him to be transported by
road to the referred hospital and the only way to get to his new
destination is for him to be airlifted.
Relations of Christopher Baman disclosed to Ultimate1069.com
that they are unable to cater for cost of airlifting their ward to
Accra and therefore are appealing to the military high command to come
to their aid.
Meanwhile, the matter has since been reported to police in Tamale who confirmed the incident when reached for their comments.
They
however disclosed that it is currently under the investigation to
unravel the said military officer who subjected the poor boy to inhumane
 treatment.
